WOOD WICK CANDLE FAQ

WHY IS MY WOOD WICK CRACKLING?
That soft crackling sound is completely normal and one of the signature features of a wooden wick candle. It creates a cozy fireplace-like ambiance while your candle burns.

HOW SHORT SHOULD I TRIM MY WOOD WICK?
Wood wicks should be kept short — about 1/8” to 1/4” long. A wick that is too long can cause a high flame, soot, uneven burning, or difficulty staying lit.

WHEN SHOULD I TRIM MY WICK?
Only trim your wick once the wax has fully cooled and hardened. Gently remove any charred wood from the previous burn before relighting.

WHY DID MY CANDLE TUNNEL?
Tunneling usually happens when the candle is not allowed to reach a full melt pool during the first burn. Wax has a “memory,” meaning future burns often follow the pattern created during the first use.

HOW LONG SHOULD I BURN MY CANDLE?
For best results, burn your candle for 2–4 hours at a time. This allows for an even melt pool and optimal fragrance throw.

WHY IS MY FLAME SMALL?
A small flame usually means the wick needs to be cleaned or trimmed. Remove excess charred wood and relight the candle.

MY WOOD WICK WENT OUT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
This is typically caused by excess carbon buildup on the wick. Allow the candle to cool completely, trim away the burnt portion of the wood wick, and relight.

WHY DOES MY CANDLE NEED A FULL MELT POOL?
A full melt pool helps prevent tunneling and promotes an even, longer-lasting burn. We highly recommend allowing the wax to melt edge-to-edge during the first burn.

CAN I BURN MY CANDLE ALL DAY?
We do not recommend burning any candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the candle to cool before relighting.

WHY DOES MY CANDLE SOMETIMES PRODUCE SOOT?
Minor soot can happen if:
• The wick is too long
• The candle is exposed to drafts or fans
• The candle is burned too long

Keeping your wick properly trimmed and away from airflow helps minimize soot.

HOW SHOULD I SAFELY USE MY CANDLE?
• Never leave a burning candle unattended
• Keep away from children and pets
• Burn on a level heat-safe surface
• Keep away from drafts and other flammable objects
• Never move a burning candle
• Stop use when approximately 1/2” of wax remains
